Rebecca Paisley is a well-known American author, celebrated for her romance, Regency, and historical romance novels. Born as Rebecca Boado Rosas, she was inspired by her father, Emil Edward Boado, who served in the U.S. Air Force as a pilot and tragically died during the Vietnam War. Paisley's love for writing began at a young age, as she penned letters and poems to her family members. The name Rebecca Paisley is, in fact, a pen name she adopted to write and publish 9 novels and 4 novellas.
Paisley's writing journey started with a simple desire to express herself and share her thoughts and emotions. She wrote letters, stories, and even created her version of superhero tales about her father. As she grew older, her writing became more sophisticated, and she developed a deep appreciation for historical romance novels. However, it wasn't until she decided to write for herself, rather than trying to fit into what she thought publishers wanted, that her career took off.
Her debut novel, THE BAREFOOT BRIDE, was initially rejected by 17 publishing houses before finding success with Avon Books. Paisley's determination and commitment to staying true to her voice and style earned her a spot on the Publishers Weekly bestseller list and the Romance Writer's of America Honor Roll. She has been a RITA finalist and has won several prestigious awards, including the Romantic Times' "Lifetime Achievement Award" and "Career Achievement Award," a Reviewers’ Choice Award for "Historical Romance Fantasy," and a "Best Love and Laughter" Award.
