A.R. Kahler is a highly regarded American author, well-known for his successful novels in the young adult, fantasy, and new adult genres. Born on November 26, 1986, in a small town on the edge of Iowa, Kahler discovered his passion for writing at a young age, inspired by authors such as J.K. Rowling, Cassandra Clare, Neil Gaiman, and Holly Black. Despite his early interest in fantasy, Kahler was not allowed to write about it during his high school years, leading him to pursue higher education in creative writing at Bennington College, where he earned his degree in 2010.
Before and during his academic journey, Kahler wore many hats, including those of a circus artist and a full-time wanderer. He has traveled extensively, teaching circus in Amsterdam and Madrid, exploring the Scottish wilderness, and even drumming with Norse shamans. A Sagittarius at heart, Kahler has a thirst for adventure and a love for new experiences that shine through in his writing.
In addition to being an author, Kahler is also a weekly blogger at YARebels, writing under the name "Friday." He writes middle grade fiction under the pseudonym K.R. Alexander and is represented by Brent Taylor of Triada US Literary. Kahler's works include "The Runebinder Chronicles," "The Immortal Circus," "The Pale Queen," and "Ravenborn," among others. He holds a Master's degree in Creative Writing from Glasgow University.
