Abi Elphinstone

Abi Elphinstone is a British author known for her adventurous children's novels, including "The Dreamsnatcher" and "The Shadow Keeper." Born on June 24, 1984, she grew up in Scotland, where her childhood explorations of the Highlands inspired her vivid storytelling. Her debut novel, "The Dreamsnatcher," published in 2015, marked the beginning of her successful writing career, followed by its sequel, "The Shadow Keeper," in 2016. Her works, aimed at readers aged 8–12, blend fantasy, mystery, and wild landscapes to captivate young audiences.

Elphinstone studied English at Bristol University before working as a teacher, a role that deepened her understanding of children's literature. Her writing often reflects her own childhood adventures, filled with tree houses, hidden dens, and the untamed beauty of nature. Beyond writing, she volunteers for Beanstalk and conducts creative writing workshops in schools. Her passion for exploration has led her to seek inspiration globally, including living with the Kazakh Eagle Hunters in Mongolia. Elphinstone continues to craft stories that ignite imagination and a love for adventure in young readers.
