Abigail Hing Wen is a successful young adult fiction author, hailing from Washington D.C. She was born to a family of immigrants, with her father being Indonesian and her mother Filipino. Her grandparents were also immigrants, having originally come from Shandong and Fujian provinces in China. Wen was raised in Ohio and went on to attend Columbia Law School and Harvard University. She shares a similar background with the lead character in her debut novel, “Loveboat, Taipei,” as she also attended the Loveboat program in Taiwan during her teenage years.
After graduating from law school, Wen found work in Washington D.C., where she worked in the Senate. She later became a law clerk for a federal judge before eventually making a name for herself in the field of artificial intelligence for venture capital organizations in Silicon Valley. Despite her success in the corporate world, Wen maintained her passion for writing. During her free time, she pursued a master's degree in writing from the Vermont College of Fine Arts. When she is not working on her novels, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, listening to and dancing to music, and socializing with extended family and friends in the Bay Area.
Wen is the New York Times bestselling author and executive producer of “Loveboat, Taipei,” which has been adapted into a film titled “LOVE IN TAIPEI” by Paramount Plus. She has also written companion novels, including “Loveboat Reunion” and “Loveboat Forever.” Wen holds a BA from Harvard, a JD from Columbia Law School, and an MFA from the Vermont School of Fine Arts. She is also passionate about musicals and dancing, much like some of her characters. When she's not writing or spending time with her family, Wen can be found working in artificial intelligence in Silicon Valley. She is set to release her fourth young adult novel, “Kisses, Codes and Conspiracies,” in August 2024. Wen is an accomplished and multifaceted individual who continues to make an impact in the literary world and beyond.
