Adam Kay

Adam Kay is an English author, comedian, and retired medical doctor who has gained international recognition for his humorous and candid books. Born in London, Kay attended Dulwich College before pursuing a degree in medicine at Imperial College London. While studying medicine, he began performing as a comedian and formed the musical comedy group Amateur Transplants.

Kay's writing career took off with his bestselling book, "This Is Going to Hurt: Secret Diaries of a Junior Doctor," which spent over a year as a Sunday Times number one bestseller and has sold over two million copies. The book, which chronicles his experiences as a junior doctor, has been translated into 37 languages and has won four National Book Awards, including Book of the Year. It is also set to be adapted into a major new comedy drama for the BBC.
