Alex Bledsoe

Alex Bledsoe is an American author, renowned for his work in the urban fantasy and sword and sorcery genres. Hailing from western Tennessee, he has written over twenty novels and more than fifty short stories, many of which form popular series such as Eddie LaCrosse, Memphis Vampires, Tales of Tufa, and Tales of the Firefly Witch. His writing is characterized by strong noir themes and hard-boiled protagonists.

Before establishing himself as a successful author, Bledsoe had a variety of jobs to make ends meet. He worked as a reporter, editor, photographer, and even a door-to-door vacuum cleaner salesman. After finding success in his writing career, he now resides in Wisconsin with his wife and three children, living in a big yellow house. In 2009, he donated his archive to the department of Special Collections and Rare Books at Northern Illinois University.

Bledsoe's formative years were spent in west Tennessee, not far from the homes of Elvis Presley and Tina Turner. His career as a writer took off after he tried his hand at numerous professions and settled into life in Wisconsin. He has a strong connection to his roots, as seen in his writing, where he often incorporates elements of his upbringing and experiences.
