Alex George

Alex George is an accomplished author, bookseller, literary festival director, and lawyer. Born in England, he currently resides in the Midwest of America. George studied law at Oxford University and worked as a corporate lawyer in London and Paris for eight years. After moving to the U.S., he opened Skylark Bookshop in Columbia, Missouri, and started the Unbound Book Festival, of which he is the director. George also practices law in his spare time.

George's literary career is marked by several successful novels, including "A Good American," published in 2012 by Amy Einhorn Books, an imprint of Penguin/Putnam. The novel was a bestseller and won several awards, including Best Book of the Year by Library Journal, a Midwest Connections Pick, Number One Indie Next Pick, Best Book of the Month on Amazon, and a Discover New Writers Pick by Barnes and Noble. His other novels, "Setting Free The Kites" and "The Paris Hours," were also successful and won several awards. George's work has been featured in various publications, including Literary Hub and The Washington Post.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, George is married to Alexandra Socarides, a writer, professor, and critic. They have four children and reside in Columbia, Missouri.
