Alexia Gordon is an accomplished American author, best known for her Gethsemane Brown Mystery series. Her work has been recognized with various award nominations and wins. This includes a nomination for an Agatha Award, a win at the Lefty Awards, a finish as a finalist for the Silver Falchion Award, and multiple wins at the Lone Star Literary Bloggers’ Choice Awards.
Gordon's love for writing started at a young age. As a sixth-grader, she won her first writing prize. However, her writing pursuits had to be put on hold as she focused on her medical education, finishing family medicine residency and medical school training. Once her medical career was established, she returned to her passion for writing fiction.
Gordon was born in the Southeast and attended college in the Northeast. She spent three years in Alaska, which reminded her of the importance of warm weather and sunlight. This led her to move to the Southwest. After some time in the desert, she moved to the Chicago area, as she missed deciduous trees. She completed her studies at Southern Methodist University's Writer's Path program in Dallas, Texas.
In addition to being an author, Gordon is a member of Sisters in Crime, Mystery Writers of America, International Thriller Writers, and Crime Writers of Color.
