Alice Duncan, a successful author, was born and raised in Pasadena, California. However, her family moved to a farm in Kezar Falls, Maine, when she was just three months old. Although they returned to California when she was four, many of her relatives still reside in Maine. Duncan's family history has significantly influenced her writing, as she has used her maternal grandmother's maiden name, Emma Craig, as a pseudonym.
Before becoming a full-time writer, Duncan tried her hand at dancing and singing in a choir, but found limited success. It wasn't until 1995 that she published her first book, "One Bright Morning," with Harper Monogram Publishers. After finding success in writing, she moved from Pasadena to her maternal ancestral home in Roswell, New Mexico. Despite living in New Mexico, Duncan has written many novels set in the Old West, inspired by her time in California.
Duncan has written under several pseudonyms, including Emma Craig, Rachel Wilson, Anne Robins, and Jon Sharpe. She has written two books as Jon Sharpe, "Pecos Belle Brigade" and "California Crusader." Duncan is a prolific writer who has written many novels under her own name, in addition to her work as a pseudonymous author.
In recent years, Duncan has had to give up her singing career due to bronchitis. However, she remains passionate about writing and rescuing dachshunds. Despite the challenges she has faced, Duncan continues to write and publish books, inspiring readers with her stories and characters.
