Alison Espach is an American author known for her acclaimed novels, including "The Wedding People," "Notes on Your Sudden Disappearance," and "The Adults." Her work "Notes on Your Sudden Disappearance" was recognized as an Indie Next Pick and an Amazon Editors’ Pick in 2022, while "The Adults" earned a spot as a New York Times Editor’s Choice and a Barnes and Noble Discover selection. Espach’s writing has also appeared in prominent publications such as McSweeney’s, Vogue, Outside Magazine, and Joyland.
Born and raised in Trumbull, Connecticut, Espach earned a BA from Providence College and an MFA in Creative Writing from Washington University in St. Louis. Her fiction often explores themes of grief, relationships, and personal transformation with a sharp, insightful voice. In addition to her novels, her essays and short stories have been featured in Glamour, Salon, The Daily Beast, and Writer’s Digest. She currently teaches creative writing at Providence College in Rhode Island while continuing to contribute to literary journals and magazines.
