Alison Goodman is a highly accomplished Australian fantasy writer, best known for her acclaimed series such as the Lady Helen series and the Eon/Eona series. Goodman was born in Melbourne, Australia, in 1966 and began her writing career with the novel "Singing the Dogstar Blue," which won the Aurealis Award for Best Young Adult Novel. Her 2007 novel "Killing the Rabbit" was also shortlisted for a Davitt Award.
Goodman's first book in her crossover duology, "The Two Pearls of Wisdom," was published in the U.K and Australia in 2008, and in the United States later that same year under the title "EON: Dragoneye Reborn." This novel was met with great success, earning multiple awards including an Aurealis Award and a James Tiptree Jr. Award. It has since been translated into over ten languages. Throughout her career, Goodman has contributed numerous short stories to various anthologies.
Goodman has written a total of seven novels, including the award-winning Dark Days Club trilogy, also known as the Lady Helen trilogy, and the New York Times Bestselling fantasy duology, EON and EONA. She is currently working on her upcoming novel, "The Benevolent Society of Ill-Mannered Ladies," which will be published in the USA, UK, and Australia in May 2023. Goodman's latest book in the Dark Days Club trilogy, "The Dark Days Deceit," was published in 2017.
