Alison Littlewood

Alison Littlewood is a distinguished author from Great Britain, well-known for her horror novels and short stories. Raised in Penistone, South Yorkshire, Littlewood initially planned to study graphic design in college. However, she found herself missing literature and switched to a joint English and History degree at the University of Northumbria at Newcastle (now Northumbria University). After graduation, she pursued a career in marketing before discovering her passion for writing fiction.\n \nLittlewood currently resides in deepest Yorkshire, England, in a house with creaking doors and crooked walls, sharing her life with her partner Fergus and two Dalmatians. She enjoys exploring the surrounding hills and dales, and has a fondness for books on folklore and weird history, as well as Earl Grey tea and semicolons. Her love for words is evident in her writing, which has been recognized with a Shirley Jackson Award for Short Fiction.\n \nLittlewood's debut novel, "A Cold Season," was published in 2011 and was chosen for the Richard and Judy Book Club, with critics praising it as "perfect reading for a dark winter's night." Her latest novel, "The Crow Garden," is a tale of obsession set in Victorian asylums and séance rooms. In addition to her novels, Littlewood has published several short stories that have been featured in various Best Of anthologies, and she has also released three collections: "Quieter Paths," "Five Feathered Tales," and "The Flowering." She also writes under the pen name A. J. Elwood. Littlewood's work can be found online and in local bookstores, and her website is at alisonlittlewood.co.uk.
