Alissa Nutting

Alissa Nutting is an accomplished American author, well-known for her literary fiction novels. She earned her Bachelor's degree from the University of Florida and later went on to obtain a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Alabama. Nutting has also pursued a career in academia, teaching creative writing at various institutions including John Carroll University and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Currently, she shares her expertise with students at Grinnell College.

In addition to her work in novels, Nutting has made significant contributions to the world of short fiction. Her writing has been featured in numerous publications such as Bomb, Conduit, Tin House, and The Norton Introduction to Literature. Moreover, she has demonstrated her versatility as a writer through essays that have appeared in prominent outlets like O: The Oprah Magazine, the New York Times, and Fence.

One of Nutting's most notable works is her short story collection, "Unclean Jobs for Women and Girls," which was published by Starcheron/Dzanc in 2010. This collection was particularly distinguished as it won the Starcherone Prize for Innovative Fiction.
