Allen Eskens is a successful American author, renowned for his crime thriller novels. Eskens was born and raised in the picturesque hills of Missouri. After graduating from high school, he moved to Minnesota to attend college. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from the University of Minnesota, where he began to develop his writing skills. Eskens then went on to achieve a Master's level degree from Minnesota State University, taking classes at the Iowa Summer Writing Festival and the Loft Literary Center in Minneapolis. He later acquired a Juris Doctorate from Hamline University School of Law.
Eskens has been practicing as a criminal defense attorney for 25 years in Minnesota. He currently lives in greater Minnesota with his wife, Joely.
