Amanda Jennings

Amanda Jennings is a successful British author, known for her psychological thrillers and mysteries. Born in 1973 in London, she spent her childhood in rural Berkshire after her family moved there when she was young. Jennings' passion for writing emerged early on, leading her to study History of Art at Cambridge University, despite initially pursuing architecture.

After college, Jennings ventured into various professional paths, including writing copy for companies and working as a researcher at the BBC. However, her desire to focus on writing grew stronger, particularly after her sitcom script made the shortlist for a BBC writing competition. This achievement encouraged her to stay at home and write fiction, especially after the birth of her second child. Jennings is now a mother to three daughters and resides with her family and pets near Henley-on-Thames.

Jennings is the author of five novels, including "Sworn Secret," "The Judas Scar," "In Her Wake," "The Cliff House," and "The Storm," which was released in July 2020. She is currently working on her sixth novel, a psychological thriller set in Cornwall, where many of her books are based. Jennings finds inspiration in the sea and enjoys spending time outdoors, walking her dogs and exploring the wilds of Bodmin Moor. She has a strong connection to Cornwall, as her mother's side of the family originates from there. Jennings' work has been well-received, with translations available and awards such as the WHSmith Fresh Talent pick for "In Her Wake" and a television option for "The Judas Tree."
