Aminah Mae Safi is a Muslim American young adult author who has a deep interest in exploring various themes through her writing. She has a love for Bollywood endings, Sofia Coppola films, and has even watched every movie in the “Fast and Furious” franchise. Safi holds an art history degree from the University of Southern California and earned her master’s degree in Islamic Art History from the University of Chicago. Her thesis on Identity Crisis is reflective in her novels that often center around the theme of identity.
Safi currently resides in Los Angeles, California, with her partner and two cats. She published her first novel, “Not The Girls You're Looking For” in 2018 and has since then published several other novels. Some of her most notable works include “Tell Me How You Really Feel” and the forthcoming “Travelers Along the Way: a Robin Hood Remix,” both published by Feiwel & Friends. Safi’s writing has been featured in various publications, including Bustle, Salon, and Pub Crawl.
