Amy Clipston is an accomplished American author, well-known for her Amish and Christian fiction novels. Growing up in New Jersey, Clipston had a strong desire to become a writer from a young age. After graduating from high school, she attended Virginia Wesleyan College in Norfolk, earning a degree in communications. It was during her senior year that she met her husband, Joe. Shortly after their meeting, Clipston's father suffered a massive stroke, but this did not deter her from building a relationship with Joe, and they were married four years later.
Clipston's writing career took off in 2007 when she sold her first book, and she has been writing prolifically ever since. She is the author of several popular book series, including the Kauffman Amish Bakery series, the Roadside Assistance series, the Hearts of Lancaster Grand Hotel series, and the Amish Marketplace series, among others. Over the course of her career, she has sold more than one million books. Some of her notable works include 'A Gift of Grace', 'A Place of Peace', 'A Hopeful Heart', 'A Mother's Secret', and 'The View from Coral Cove'. In addition to her contemporary and Amish fiction, she has also written young adult and non-fiction works.
In 2011, Clipston made the decision to donate a kidney to a stranger in need at Johns Hopkins Hospital. This selfless act not only saved the life of the recipient but also allowed her husband to receive a second kidney transplant. Through this experience, she became an advocate for organ and blood donation and hopes to inspire others to become donors as well. She has written a memoir, 'A Gift of Love', about her experience, which was published in early 2014.
Amy Clipston currently resides in North Carolina with her husband, two sons, mother, and four cats. She is an active member of the Authors Guild, American Christian Fiction Writers, and Romance Writers of America.
