Amy Hatvany is an accomplished American author, born in Seattle, Washington, and known for her family life fiction novels. Raised in Seattle, she pursued higher education at Washington University, where she graduated in 1994 with a degree in Sociology. However, she soon discovered that sociologists had limited job prospects in the United States. Consequently, she held various jobs, including a wedding cake decorator, which she adored, and a receptionist, which she found less appealing. Eventually, she decided to quit her job, sell her car, and dedicate herself to writing in 1998. By 2000, she had published her first novel, "The Kind of Love That Saves You."
Hatvany is married to her second husband, Stephan, and has three children, Miles, Scarlett, and Anna, whom she affectionately refers to as her "bonus child." They share their home with two dogs, Dolce and Kenda, whom they fondly call their "four-legged hairy children." Apart from writing, Hatvany enjoys spending time with her family and friends, indulging in hobbies such as cooking, reading, and watching select reality TV shows. She has a particular affinity for Top Chef and eagerly anticipates the auditions for "Top Author."
Inspired by her background in Sociology, Hatvany's novels tackle timely and controversial issues, including mental illness, domestic abuse, and alcoholism. She has authored several books, such as "Best Kept Secret," "Outside the Lines," "The Language of Sisters," "Heart Like Mine," "Safe with Me," and "Somewhere Out There." Currently, Amy resides in Seattle with her family and continues to write thought-provoking and engaging novels.
