Amy Spalding is a successful American author, best known for her young adult novels that explore themes of friendship, love, and self-discovery. Born in St. Louis, Spalding has always had a passion for the arts, which is evident in her writing. She has a background in marketing and currently works for a film advertising agent, but in her spare time, she can be found performing around Los Angeles.\n \nSpalding's love for the arts is reflected in her work, which often features characters who are involved in the performing arts. Her novels include "For Her Consideration," "We Used to Be Friends," and "The Summer of Jordi Perez (and the Best Burger in Los Angeles)," which was named a best book of 2018 by NPR, the Boston Globe, Kirkus Reviews, and more. In addition to her writing, Spalding has also studied longform improv at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre.
