Andrew Fukuda is a successful author of young adult fantasy novels. He was born in Manhattan and spent his formative years in Hong Kong. His unique cultural background, being half Japanese and half Chinese, has significantly influenced his writing. Fukuda earned a degree in history from Cornell University and began his professional career working with the immigrant teen community in Chinatown, Manhattan. This experience proved to be a significant catalyst for his literary pursuits.
Fukuda's debut novel, "Crossing," was published in 2010 and was met with critical acclaim. It was chosen as a Top Ten Crime Novel, Top Ten First Novel, and Editors Choice by the ALA Booklist. This success encouraged Fukuda to continue writing, leading him to pivot from standalone novels to series writing. His next work was "The Hunt," the first novel in the "Hunt" series of novels. The series was published by St. Martin's Press after a successful auction. Before becoming a full-time author, Fukuda served as a prosecutor for the state government.
