Andy McDermott

Andy McDermott is an accomplished English novelist, particularly recognized for his thriller novels. He is best known for his series featuring archaeologist Dr. Nina Wilde and ex-SAS soldier Eddie Chase. Besides his career as a novelist, McDermott has also worked as a journalist, film critic, and magazine editor.

Born in Halifax, West Yorkshire, McDermott now resides in Bournemouth. His career as a journalist and magazine editor included editing DVD Review and the iconoclastic film publication Hotdog. He has since transitioned to being a full-time writer.

McDermott is the bestselling author of the Nina Wilde/Eddie Chase series of adventure thrillers, which have been published in over 30 countries and 25 languages. His debut novel, The Hunt for Atlantis, was published in the UK in 2007 and became a New York Times bestseller in the US. In addition to the Wilde/Chase series, he has also written the Alex Reeve series, starting with Operative 66, the high-tech spy thriller The Persona Protocol, the Kindle-exclusive Curious Case Files of Leviticus Gold series, and the Kindle-exclusive horror novella Italianate. McDermott recently sold the movie rights to the Wilde/Chase series to Netflix. He has also signed a new contract for a 17th Wilde/Chase adventure, a fourth Alex Reeve novel, and a new standalone thriller. McDermott's novels have received critical acclaim for their epic globetrotting scope and non-stop thrills, with action scenes that "explode off the page" (Daily Express).
