Anissa Gray

Anissa Gray is an accomplished American author, as well as an Emmy and DuPont-Columbia award-winning journalist. She was born and raised in Michigan, where her father was a Pentecostal church pastor and her mother a homemaker. Gray's upbringing in this religious household has likely influenced her perspective and storytelling, which she later applied to her career in journalism and fiction writing.

Gray attended Michigan University for her undergraduate degree and later received her master’s in English from New York University. After graduate school, she began her career as a print reporter at Reuters in Manhattan, covering global financial news. This experience exposed her to a wide range of stories and people, further developing her skills as a journalist and writer. After some time at Reuters, Gray transitioned to broadcast journalism, joining CNN in Atlanta. During her tenure at CNN, she has held various positions including producer, editor, and writer, earning multiple awards for her contributions to the network's coverage of major stories.

With more than 20 years of experience as a journalist, Gray decided to pursue fiction writing, using her love of storytelling from her journalism background and applying it to the events and encounters that shape our lives. As a lifelong book lover and voracious reader, this career shift allowed her to delve into the world of fiction and create narratives that resonate with readers.
