Ann Weisgarber is a bestselling historical fiction author, originally from Dayton, Ohio. She was raised in the suburb of Kettering before attending Wright State University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work. Weisgarber later attended the University of Houston and earned a Master of Arts in Sociology. She has spent much of her life living and working in Texas, but has also resided in Des Moines, Iowa, and Cambridge, Massachusetts. Currently, she lives in Galveston, Texas, with her husband, Rob.
Weisgarber has had a successful writing career, with her novels receiving numerous nominations and awards. Her novel "The Personal History of Rachel DuPree" was nominated for the UK's Orange Prize and the Orange Award for New Writers. In the United States, she won the Stephen Turner Award for New Fiction and the Langum Prize for American Historical Fiction. Weisgarber is currently working on a novel about a World War II German POW camp in Hearne, Texas.
