Anna Marie Tendler

Anna Marie Tendler is a writer and visual artist whose memoir, "Men Have Called Her Crazy," became a New York Times bestseller, debuting at #2. The book received widespread acclaim from prominent outlets such as The New York Times, The Atlantic, and NPR. In addition to her literary work, Tendler is recognized for her breakout photo series, "Rooms In The First House," which has been exhibited nationally to critical praise.

With a master’s degree in fashion and textile history from NYU, Tendler’s academic background informs her creative pursuits. Her thesis, "The Lip Filler Phenomenon: Modern Medicine, Kylie Jenner, and Post-Feminist Female Sexuality," reflects her interest in female body politics—a theme that often surfaces in her work. She blends personal narrative with cultural critique, establishing herself as a distinctive voice in contemporary nonfiction.

Tendler is currently working on her debut novel, slated for publication by Simon & Schuster in fall 2027. Residing in Connecticut with her three cats, she continues to explore the intersections of art, identity, and societal expectations through multiple mediums.
