Anna Stuart is a historical author who also writes under the pseudonyms Jo Wilde and Joanna Courtney. From a young age, Stuart had a passion for writing, creating boarding school novels at the age of nine. She ventured into Factory planning to have a "proper job," but this career did not offer her the opportunity to be creative. She left her job to have children, which allowed her to write and publish short stories and serials in women's magazines.
Stuart's ultimate aim was to write longer fiction, and she achieved this by publishing a series of successful historical novels under the pseudonym Joanna Courtney. She continues to publish under that name but is also delighted to write contemporary fiction as Anna Stuart. Bonnie and Stan is a true-to-life romance set in both the present day and sixties Liverpool, and Four Minutes to Save a Life is a domestic drama about how small acts of kindness might just change the world.
In addition to her historical novels, Stuart writes WW2 fiction, focusing on some of the lesser-known aspects of this astonishing period and writing from a female perspective. The Midwife of Auschwitz has been her bestselling novel to date. She enjoys writing emotional tales of courage, strength, and overcoming terrible odds. Stuart also writes medieval fiction as Joanna Courtney. She loves hearing from her readers via her website, social media, or newsletter.
