Anne Enright

Anne Enright is a highly acclaimed Irish author, born on October 11, 1962, in Dublin, Ireland. She received her early education at St. Louis High School in Rathmines before winning an international scholarship to Lester B. Pearson United World College of the Pacific in Victoria, British Columbia. There, she studied for an International Baccalaureate for two years. She then completed her BA in English and Philosophy at Trinity College Dublin.

Enright has made significant contributions to literature with her published works, which include three volumes of stories, one book of nonfiction, and five novels. Her writing talent has earned her numerous accolades, including being named the inaugural Laureate for Irish Fiction in 2015. Her novel "The Gathering" won the prestigious Man Booker Prize, while "The Forgotten Waltz" was awarded the Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Fiction.

As a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, Enright's novel "The Gathering" won the 2007 Man Booker Prize, further cementing her reputation as a formidable writer. She has also received the 1991 Rooney Prize for Irish Literature, the 2001 Encore Award, and the 2008 Irish Novel of the Year. Prior to her Man Booker Prize win, Enright maintained a relatively low profile in Ireland and the United Kingdom, although her works were well-reviewed and highly praised.
