Anne Randall

Anne Randall, who also writes under the pen name A.J. McCreanor, is a crime fiction author who was born in Glasgow, Scotland. After graduating from university, she worked in various inner-city Glasgow secondary schools, never losing her passion for writing. She is best known for her award-winning Wheeler and Ross series, which is set in her hometown and features gritty and gripping storylines.

Randall's debut novel, RIVEN, won first prize at the Wells Festival of Literature in 2011 and has been praised by critics and readers alike. It has been described as a "super story" with a "breath-taking ending" and a "wonderful twist" that leaves readers exhausted by the end. Her second novel, SILENCED, received similar acclaim and was described as "assured and clever" and "a novel of 'tartan noir'." The third novel in the series, TORN, has also been well-received, with reviewers praising Randall's well-drawn characters, superb dialogue, and realistic crimes.

Before becoming a psychotherapist and full-time writer, Randall worked in various jobs, including as a cadet nurse, flower-seller, civil servant, and English teacher in Glasgow. She now lives in Glastonbury, Somerset, with her husband, Don Storey, who is a bespoke furniture-maker. They share their home with two rescued cats and an inherited collie dog. In addition to her novels, Randall has also had poems and short stories published in various anthologies. She is active on social media, with a Twitter account and a Facebook page.
