Annie Ward

Annie Ward is a successful American author, best known for her suspenseful and thrilling novels. She has written in various genres including contemporary, psychological thriller, mystery, and adult fiction. Her writing career began in 2002 with the publication of her first novel, "The Making of June," which received critical acclaim. After a hiatus of 17 years, Ward returned to the literary world with her second book, "Beautiful Bad," in 2019.

Ward was born in Kansas City, Missouri and pursued her undergraduate studies at UCLA, where she majored in English Literature with a focus on Creative Writing. She later earned her MFA degree from the American Film Institute. During her time at AFI, Ward sold her first short screenplay, "Strange Habit," to BFCS/MTV Productions. The film, which starred Adam Scott, was a Grand Jury Award Winner at the Aspen Film Festival and an Official Selection at the Sundance Festival.

After film school, Ward moved to Eastern Europe to work for Fodor Travel Guides, covering regions of Spain and Bulgaria. She lived in Bulgaria for five years, a period that included a civilian uprising and government overthrow. It was during this time that Ward wrote "The Making of June," which was published to critical acclaim in 2002. While in Bulgaria, Ward also received a Fulbright Scholarship, taught at the University of Sofia, and script doctored eight screenplays for Nu-Image, an Israeli/American film company. She was also the recipient of an Escape to Create artist residency. Ward currently resides in Kansas City, Kansas with her family.
