Anthea Fraser is a highly accomplished British novelist, best known for her mystery thrillers, including the Rona Parish and DCI Webb Mystery series. In addition to writing under her own name, Fraser has also published five novels under the pseudonym Vanessa Graham. Growing up in a literary family, with a mother who was also a published novelist, Fraser developed a love for storytelling at a very young age. She began composing short stories and poems even before she could write, and by the age of five, she had already declared her intention to pursue a professional career in authorship.
Throughout her school years, Fraser filled her exercise books with poems and short stories, honing her writing skills and preparing herself for a career in literature. However, it wasn't until she was married with two daughters that she began to pursue writing professionally. In the early years of her career, she published several short stories that were not particularly successful. It wasn't until 1970 that she turned to novel writing and published her first commercially successful novel. Four years later, she published her first significant success, "Laura Possessed," which marked a shift in her writing style towards paranormal themes.
Following the success of "Laura Possessed," Fraser went on to write six more novels in the same vein, all of which were just as successful. With her newfound confidence in her abilities, she began to explore other genres, including romantic suspense. However, it was her crime fiction thriller series of novels that would ultimately make her a huge success.
Throughout her career, Fraser has proven herself to be a versatile and prolific writer, with a talent for creating engaging and suspenseful stories that keep readers on the edge of their seats. Her contributions to the world of literature have been significant, and she continues to be a beloved and respected figure in the literary community.
