Anthony Bidulka is a Canadian author, well-known for his mystery suspense and thriller novels. Born and raised in a small town in Saskatchewan, Bidulka grew up on a farm near Prud’homme. After completing his university studies in Saskatoon, he decided to become an accountant and worked with international accounting and audit company, Ernst and Young until 1999. However, his childhood dream of becoming a writer always remained, and in 1999, he left his accounting career to become a full-time writer.
Bidulka's books have been highly acclaimed and nominated for several awards. His first book, Amuse Bouche: A Russell Quant Mystery, received rave reviews and earned him a nomination for the Crime Writers of Canada Arthur Ellis Award. His most recent book has been described as "poignant, ingeniously plotted, and exquisitely told" (The Ottawa Review of Books). Bidulka's books have been nominated for Crime Writers of Canada Arthur Ellis Awards, Saskatchewan Book Awards, a ReLit award, Lambda Literary Awards, with Flight of Aquavit awarded the Lambda Literary Award for Best Men’s Mystery, making Bidulka the first Canadian to win in that category.
In addition to the Russell Quant mystery series, Bidulka has written two books following the adventures of Adam Saint, a tough-as-nails, luxury loving, Disaster Recovery Agent. In 2016, Bidulka published his first stand-alone suspense novel, Set Free, and in 2022, he returns with his Adult Fiction/Mystery novel, Going to Beautiful. Bidulka's writing style is unique, and he has a talent for creating underrepresented settings and characters in traditional genre novels.
Bidulka is a great believer in community involvement and has been on the boards of local, national, and international organizations. He has received several awards and recognitions for his contributions to the community, including being inducted into the University of Saskatchewan’s Wall of Honor and named his city’s Citizen of the Year. When he is not writing, Bidulka loves to travel, collect art, walk his dogs, and throw a good party with close friends.
