Anthony Riches is a British author who has made a name for himself in the world of historical military fiction. He is best known for his series, the Empire series, which has gained popularity among readers. His interest in military history began at a young age, as he was captivated by the stories of World War II that his father and grandfather, both war veterans, would share. This early exposure to military history inspired him to pursue a degree in Military Studies at Manchester University.
Riches spent several years working in various roles in different parts of the world before he began writing in earnest. He spent 25 years working for various companies, eventually becoming a change project management and business systems expert. During this time, he lived in the Middle and Far East, the USA, Europe, and the UK, working as a freelance project manager. Although he began writing the first draft of what would become his first published novel, Wounds of Honor, in 1996, he spent the next decade refining his writing skills and taking his endeavor more seriously. It was not until a life-changing event in Belfast that he decided to publish the novel in 2009.
In addition to his work in historical military fiction, Riches made his debut in the world of crime thrillers in 2021 with the release of Nemesis. Despite his success in fiction, he remains grounded in his love for military history, drawing on his knowledge and interest to create engaging and immersive worlds for his readers. Riches currently resides in Hertfordshire with his wife and three children.
