Anthony Trollope was a renowned English author, born in London, England in 1815. He was born into a well-educated family, with his father being a barrister. Despite his father's aspirations for his sons to attend Cambridge or Oxford and be raised as gentlemen, Trollope's family faced financial struggles. This led to Trollope attending the Harrow School in London.
Trollope's writing career brought him great success, making him one of the most respected novelists of his time. He wrote about a range of issues that were prevalent during the Victoria era, including political, social, and gender issues. His work was well-regarded by many notable figures, such as Sir Alec Guinness, multiple British Prime Ministers, and contemporary American novelists Sue Grafton and Dominick Dunne.
In addition to his writing, Trollope also worked for the post office. He was a prolific writer, producing a significant body of work during his lifetime. His most beloved series, the Chronicles of Barsetshire, is set in an imaginary county and is considered to be some of his best work. Trollope's literary reputation experienced a decline in his later years, but he was able to regain the respect of critics during the mid-20th century.
