Anthony Veasna So

Anthony Veasna So was a talented writer born in Stockton, California in 1992. His parents were Cambodian refugees who had fled their home country during the Khmer Rouge genocide. So's writing was deeply influenced by his heritage, and he often explored themes related to his Cambodian-American identity.

So attended Stanford University, where he earned bachelor's degrees in English and Art in 2014. His passion for writing led him to further his studies at Syracuse University, where he earned his MFA in fiction. So's work has been widely recognized and published in prestigious publications such as The New Yorker, n+1, Granta, and ZYZZYVA.

Throughout his career, So taught at various institutions, including Colgate University, Syracuse University, and the Center for Empowering Refugees and Immigrants in Oakland, California. His writing was highly regarded for its humor, intelligence, and unique perspective. So passed away in 2020, leaving behind a legacy as a talented and important voice in contemporary literature.
