Arlene Sachitano is an American author, well-known for her Harriet Trunman/Loose Threads mystery series. She was born in Camp Pendleton while her father was serving in the US Navy. After that, her family moved to Newport, Rhode Island before settling in Oregon, where she currently resides.
Sachitano's career spanned nearly three decades in the electronics industry, with roles in solid-state research and manufacturing supervision. Apart from her professional career, she is also a skilled knitter and quilter. Sachitano's hobbies inspire her writing, particularly in the Harriet Truman/Loose Threads mystery series, where a long-arm quilter becomes the unlikely detective. She spends her time equally between her homes in Portland and Tillamook, which she shares with her spouse and their dog, Navarre.
In addition to her writing and quilting, Arlene Sachitano shares her creativity with a group of women in Tillamook, Oregon, teaching them how to make interesting things with string and sticks. Sachitano's family, including her husband, children, and feline companion, Lydia, support her writing endeavors.
