Ash Lingam is a bestselling American author, renowned for his historical fiction books, particularly in the Western genre. He has written over 70 books and short stories, including ten series about the US Marshals, Texas Rangers, and Bounty Hunters. Lingam was born near the Ohio River and spent his childhood on a farm without neighbors. His only companions were his horse, Sugar, and his four sisters. His grandfather, who was born in 1886, raised him along with his mother and taught him the ways of the farm, including how to break and sell ponies and horses. Lingam's family were among the early settlers and pioneers from England and Scotland to America, and his ancestry can be traced back to 1776.
Lingam's experiences as a young boy in the outdoors, hunting and riding horses, provided a smooth transition for him to become an author of Old West books. As a child, he learned how to trap muskrats and hunt for food, and by the time he was twelve, he was breaking ponies and horses. Lingam's love for adventure led him to travel the world in his early twenties, exploring forty-four countries and residing in eleven. He crossed the Andes Mountains on horseback in South America, drove heavy equipment across 5,700 miles from Europe to Asia, and rode a motorcycle from the Chinese border in Tibet to South India. Lingam also owned and captained a sports fishing boat, where he caught over a hundred fish ranging from 200 to 900 pounds.
The author's passion for surfing began in Florida in his early twenties, and he has been traveling the globe for better and bigger swells ever since. Lingam's recklessness towards danger was evident on many of his risky excursions, some of which nearly cost him his life. Later in life, he built a business as a licensee with Walt Disney Consumer Products Intl, which became a joint venture, making him a worldwide president for home textiles under the Disney umbrella, stretching across the globe from Europe to Australia, including twenty-six countries. Today, Lingam resides between his home in Barcelona, Spain, and San Francisco, California, near his son. He still trains Police defense and attack dogs as a hobby and works with his Malinois Lola daily. To date, Lingam has written approximately 150 novels, short stories, and poetry, of which 110 publications are Westerns currently on sale worldwide.
