Atul Gawande

Atul Gawande is a renowned public health leader, author, and surgeon. He is widely recognized for his contributions to the medical field and has received numerous awards for his work. Gawande is the author of three bestselling books: "Complications," a finalist for the National Book Award; "Better," selected by Amazon.com as one of the ten best books of 2007; and "The Checklist Manifesto." His latest book, "Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End," has been widely praised for its exploration of the intersection between medicine and end-of-life care.

In addition to his work as an author, Gawande is a surgeon at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, a staff writer for The New Yorker, and a professor at Harvard Medical School and the Harvard School of Public Health.
