B.J. Bourg is an American author and veteran law enforcement officer with a career spanning twenty-seven years. He has worked in various capacities, including patrol cop, detective, police academy instructor, SWAT officer, sniper leader, and chief investigator for a district attorney's office. Bourg is a former professional boxer and a lifelong martial artist, adding to his physical and mental toughness.
As an author, Bourg is best known for his mystery series, including the Cling Wolf Mystery series, which began in 2016 with the release of But Not Forgotten, and the London Carter Mystery Series. He has also written two books featuring Detective Brandon Berger and a stand-alone mountain mystery. In addition to his long-form work, over 185 of his short stories and articles have been published in various magazines, such as Woman's World, Boys' Life, Tactical Response, and LAW and ORDER. Bourg is a family man who cherishes spending time with his beautiful wife and wonderful children. He has a love for the mountains, often vacationing in the region for hiking, climbing, photographing wildlife, and traversing wild rivers. After retiring from law enforcement in October 2020, Bourg has pursued his boyhood dream of becoming a full-time writer. He is a recipient of numerous awards for his work as a homicide detective, including the Distinguished Service Medal and Certificates of Commendation. Bourg is a public speaker and has written many articles for law enforcement magazines, covering a wide range of topics. He is originally from Mathews, Louisiana, and now calls Tellico Plains, Tennessee, home.
