Barb Hendee is a successful author who has completed her Composition Theory Master’s degree and has worked as a pre-school teacher before pursuing a career in writing. Between 1993 and 2006, she taught English while writing fiction on the side, some of which she worked on independently and others with her husband, J.C. Hendee has lived in various states throughout her life, including Washington, Idaho, Colorado, and currently resides just south of Portland, Oregon. She is drawn to the Northwest for its conducive environment for writing. Hendee is a proud parent to a talented daughter, Jaclyn, and son-in-law, Paul, who reside in Houston, Texas.
In 2001, Hendee and her husband sold their novel Dampir, which brought about a significant change in their lives. It was published in 2003, and since then, they have published a book in the Noble Dead Saga every year. In 2006, they were both able to quit their teaching jobs and become full-time writers. Apart from the Noble Dead Saga, Hendee is also the author of the Dark Glass, the Mist-Torn Witches, and the Vampire Memories series. She has recently started writing romance/suspense novels, with the first one being Alone with a Soldier. Hendee is grateful for her books' success, as she loves writing fiction more than anything else in the world and feels that she is not particularly good at anything else. She currently lives in a funky townhouse in Oregon with her husband and their two cats.
