Becky Black Powell is a successful American writer, known for her Christian fiction, memoir, and nonfiction novels. She began her writing career later in life, after working as a lawyer and homeschooling her son for nine years. Powell is the author of the Max Williams Adventures Series, which features a young protagonist named Max Williams who aspires to work for the CIA. Max uses his Aikido skills to solve mysteries and relies on his seventy-year-old sensei, Mrs. W, for guidance. Powell's son, who is a skilled Aikidoka, inspired her to write the series, and she hopes to give back to the Aikido community by spreading awareness about the martial art.
In addition to writing, Powell works as a full-time insurance agent and is an active member of her church and local community. She has grown children, including two who have graduated from Baylor University and one who is a college freshman. Powell resides in rural Tennessee with her husband, two dogs, and a pond full of koi. When she is not writing or working, she enjoys reading, watching television on Netflix, and spending time outside with her dogs. Powell maintains two websites with blogs, one for fans of the Max Williams series and another for her official author site. She is eager to connect with readers and answer any questions or comments they may have.
