Bernard Schaffer

Bernie Schaffer is an accomplished American author, best known for his non-fiction work as well as his fiction series. Schaffer was born and raised in the Philadelphia area, where he continues to reside. His non-fiction work is headed by the award-winning book, "Way of the Warrior: The Philosophy of Law Enforcement." This book is highly regarded for its insight into the mindset and operations of law enforcement officers, and it has been incorporated into police training programs worldwide, as well as being taught in universities.

In addition to his non-fiction work, Schaffer has made a significant impact in the fiction genre. He is the author of the acclaimed Santero and Rein Thriller series, which features detective Carrie Santero and her mentor, the troubled Jacob Rein. The series began with "The Thief of All Light," which was released in 2018. The series has been well-received, with subsequent books including "An Unsettled Grave" and "Blood Angel," all of which are available from Kensington Books.

Schaffer's success in the fiction genre extends beyond the Santero and Rein Thriller series. In 2021, he debuted a western trilogy as part of the Ralph Compton imprint with Berkley Books. The three titles in the series, "Face of a Snake," "Snake's Fury," and "Hell Snake," were all selected as Walmart paperback exclusives.
