Billy Taylor

Billy Taylor is an American author, known for his humorous fiction and young adult novels. He has had an interesting and varied career before becoming a novelist. Taylor has taught and given lectures at several institutions including Gemini Ink, SUNY Purchase, New York University, and Trinity University. He is a graduate of the Film Program at SUNY Purchase and the Interactive Telecommunications Program at New York University.

Prior to his career as a novelist, Taylor worked in the film industry as a dolly grip on numerous films and television shows. Some of the productions he worked on include "My Cousin Vinny", "Longtime Companion", and "Pee Wee's Playhouse". He also worked on the show "Good Sex with Dr. Ruth" as an electrician. After injuring his back, which ended his grip career, he took a job at a boutique at a Wall Street consulting firm. However, he soon grew tired of this job and moved with his wife to South Central Texas, where he began his writing career.

Taylor has written two novels, one for young adults titled "Thieving Weasels", and another for a more mature audience, his debut novel "Based on the Movie". "Based on the Movie" is based on his real experiences in the movie industry and provides readers with an in-depth look at what happens to the little people who work on movies. He writes in a small corner of his garage, surrounded by a collection of books. Taylor is married to a woman named Anne and they have two children.
