Blake Crouch is a highly acclaimed American author, well-known for his mystery, suspense, and thriller novels. He has written a number of successful book series, including the Andrew Z. Thomas, Letty Dobesh, and Wayward Pines series, as well as co-authoring the Serial series. Crouch's love for writing began early, and he pursued his passion at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, where he earned undergraduate degrees in English and creative writing.
Born in Statesville, North Carolina, in 1978, Crouch's work has earned him a reputation as a master of horror and thriller genres. After graduating from the University of North Carolina in 2000, Crouch began his writing career, penning numerous successful novels that have been translated into over thirty languages. His short fiction has also been featured in various publications, including Ellery Queen and Alfred Hitchcock Mystery Magazine.
Crouch's breakthrough success came with the Wayward Pines trilogy, which was later adapted into a television series for FOX in 2015. The show was a massive hit, becoming the #1 show of the Summer that year. In addition to the Wayward Pines series, Crouch co-created the TNT show Good Behavior, based on his Letty Dobesh novellas, with Chad Hodge. Crouch is currently working on the screenplay for Sony Pictures' adaptation of his novel, Dark Matter. His latest book, Recursion, a sci-fi thriller about memory, was published in June 2019. Crouch currently resides in Colorado with his family, where he continues to write and develop his popular characters.
