Bob Morris is an accomplished American novelist, well-known for his Caribbean-themed mystery novels. Hailing from a long line of Florida family residents, Morris initially left the family farm to pursue a career in journalism. Before becoming a successful novelist, he worked as a writer and columnist for the Orlando Sentinel, a Florida newspaper.
Under the name Robert Morris, he has authored the Zack Chasteen series, which consists of five mystery novels set in Florida and the Caribbean. The first novel in the series, BAHAMARAMA, was recognized as a finalist for the prestigious Edgar Allen Poe award for best first novel. The series also includes JAMAICA ME DEAD, BERMUDA SCHWARTZ, A DEADLY SILVER SEA, and BAJA FLORIDA.
In addition to his Zack Chasteen series, Morris has published several essay collections such as SHORT ROAD TO HELL, THE MAN WITH THE FISH ON HIS FOOT, GUT CHECK, ALL OVER THE MAP, and THE WHOLE SHEBANG. He has an impressive track record with awards, including being a two-time winner of the Lowell Thomas Award for travel writing and a recipient of the Ernie Pyle Award for outstanding human interest writing in America.
As a former newspaper columnist and magazine editor, Morris has contributed to various notable publications, including National Geographic Traveler, Bon Appetit, Islands, Caribbean Travel & Life, Men's Fitness, and Virtuoso Life. Currently, he runs Story Farm, a custom publishing company that specializes in creating books for artists, museums, hotels, resorts, colleges, and universities, with a focus on cookbooks for chefs and restaurants. Morris presently resides in Winter Park, FL.
