Bob Woodward

Robert Upshur Woodward, commonly known as Bob Woodward, is an acclaimed American author and journalist, best known for his work with Carl Bernstein in reporting on the Watergate Scandal for The Washington Post. Woodward was born on March 26, 1943, in Illinois. He graduated from Yale University in 1965 and served as a communications officer in the United States Navy for five years before embarking on his journalism career.

Woodward was raised in the Chicago suburb of Wheaton, where his father was one of the most prominent jurists in the city. As a young boy, he aspired to follow in his father's footsteps and study law. However, while attending Yale University, he developed an interest in English Literature and history, which eventually led him to pursue a career in journalism. Woodward's first job in journalism was at the Montgomery County (Maryland) Sentinel, where he worked as a reporter for one year before joining The Washington Post in 1971.

Bob Woodward is currently an assistant managing editor of The Washington Post and has been with the newspaper since 1971. He has shared in two Pulitzer Prizes, first in 1973 for the coverage of the Watergate scandal with Carl Bernstein, and second in 2003 as the lead reporter for coverage of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Woodward has written twelve best-selling non-fiction books, with twelve of them becoming number one national bestsellers. He has authored or co-authored books on eight of the most recent presidents, from Nixon to Obama. Woodward's reporting and writing have earned him widespread recognition as one of the best reporters of our time, with many considering him the best reporter of all time.
