Brad Parks is a highly regarded American author, renowned for his mystery and thriller novels. He is best known for his Carter Ross series, which combines humor with gritty urban realism. Parks' writing career took off while his wife was studying, when he began writing fiction in the cafe of a Barnes & Noble. By the age of 26, he had already worked for several prestigious newspapers, including The New York Times, The Boston Globe, and The Washington Post.
Parks' journey into writing began at the early age of 14, where he covered high school sports for his hometown newspaper, The Ridgefield Press. His debut novel, 'Faces of the Gone,' was published in 2009 and became the first book in the Carter Ross series. The novel's success earned Parks the Shamus and Nero awards in 2010.
Parks is the only author to have won the Nero, Lefty, and Shamus awards, three of American crime fiction's most prestigious prizes. His novels have received critical acclaim and have been translated into fifteen languages. In addition to the Carter Ross series, Parks has also written several standalone books, including 'Say Nothing.' He is a full-time novelist, living in Virginia with his wife and two children.
