Brad Reynolds

Brad Reynolds is a well-known American author, born in 1949, who specializes in writing mystery, suspense, and thriller stories. He is best recognized for his Father Mark Townsend series of mystery novels. As a Jesuit priest, Reynolds currently resides in Portland, Oregon, where he served as the executive assistant to the Provincial for the Jesuits.

Brad Reynolds, S.J., has a unique background that greatly influences his writing. Having lived in Alaska during an earlier period of his life, he has developed a deep understanding of native life there, which is reflected in his work. Reynolds is not only a prolific writer but also a skilled photographer, with over 300 articles published in various magazines and newspapers, including National Geographic, America, Alaska, and American Scholar, often accompanied by his photographs.

In Fall 2006, Reynolds was an artist-in-residence at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. His experience with National Geographic served as the foundation for his first book, The Story Knife. Reynolds describes himself as "introvert and melancholic," which may contribute to the depth and complexity found in his writing.
