Brenda Novak is a successful American author, best known for her work in the genres of contemporary romance, historical romance, and romantic suspense. She has written nearly fifty books, including the Whiskey Creek, Dundee, Idaho, Stillwater Trilogy, Last Stand, Hired Gun, and Bulletproof series. With over four million copies of her books sold, Novak has been a finalist for the prestigious RITA Award three times, as well as receiving the Bookseller’s Best Award and National Reader’s Choice Award.
Novak was born in Vernal, Utah in 1964 and grew up with a talent for math and science, rather than creative pursuits. She attended Brigham Young University on an academic scholarship, but left at the age of 20 to get married and start a family. After working in commercial real estate and as a loan officer, Novak decided to pursue writing from home as a way to be close to her children. She struggled to learn the craft for five years before publishing her first book, and has since become a prominent figure in the romance genre.
In addition to her writing career, Novak is a dedicated advocate for diabetes research. After her youngest son, Thad, was diagnosed with the disease, she began raising money for research and has since collected almost $2.6 million. Novak is also a devoted mother and grandmother, and in her free time she enjoys traveling, watching sports, and biking. She currently resides in Sacramento, California with her husband, Ted, and their five children.
Novak has published over seventy-five novels and has sold more than ten million books worldwide, translated into twenty different languages. Some of her most popular standalone books include ONE PERFECT SUMMER, THE BOOKSTORE ON THE BEACH, SUMMER ON THE ISLAND, and THE SEASIDE LIBRARY. Her next book, TOURIST SEASON, is set to be released in April 2024. Fans of Novak can stay up-to-date on her latest releases and events by signing up for her newsletter.
