Brian Niemeier is an American novelist who has gained fame for his series of science fiction horror titles. Niemeier was born in Peoria, Illinois, where he spent his childhood. He later attended Bradley University in Peoria, where he earned his bachelor's degree. Afterward, he pursued his Master of Arts degree at the Franciscan University of Steubenville.
From a young age, Niemeier had a keen interest in science fiction and spent a considerable amount of time reading science and fantasy fiction literature and media. He indulged in watching live-action television series, animated programs, movies, and playing video games. He also read numerous novels, Japanese and American comic books, and wrote notes and built homemade models for over a decade. However, it wasn't until he failed to express his ideas through model and world building that he decided to put his work on paper. Niemeier wrote his first novel, which was over 300,000 words long, but got distracted and went back to school. He then bounced around in various jobs before his mother suggested he sell his draft to a publisher. His first novel, "Nethereal," published in 2015, quickly became a fan favorite.
As a successful author, Niemeier is a #1 best-selling author and a John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer finalist. He has also won several awards for his writing, including the Dragon Award for Best Horror Novel for his second book, "Souldancer." Apart from his writing, Niemeier is also an editor who helps his top-selling clients realize the best version of each book.
