Bruce Sterling

Born in Brownsville, Texas, on April 14, 1954, Bruce Sterling is a distinguished figure in the realms of literature and journalism. He is best known for his ten science fiction novels, but his writing extends to short stories, book reviews, design criticism, opinion columns, and introductions for various books. Sterling's work has been influential in shaping science fiction and futurist thought, with his nonfiction works like "The Hacker Crackdown: Law and Disorder on the Electronic Frontier" (1992), "Tomorrow Now: Envisioning the Next Fifty Years" (2003), and "Shaping Things" (2005) providing insightful commentary on technology and society.

Sterling's career includes roles as a journalist, critic, and contributing editor at Wired magazine, a position he has held since its inception in 1999. His writing has been featured in numerous publications, including ABC's Nightline, BBC's The Late Show, CBC's Morningside, on MTV and TechTV, and in Time, Newsweek, The Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, Fortune, Nature, I.D., Metropolis, Technology Review, Der Spiegel, La Stampa, and La Repubblica.
