D.M. Haggard, also known as D.M. Horridge, was born in Texas and grew up surrounded by a strong family, dust, and cactus. As a young child, he would visit his uncle's farm in San Antonio and work alongside his seven cousins, baling hay, hunting rattlesnakes, and swimming in a round cow trough. Haggard has spent his life hunting, fishing, and working hard on his own ranch in Texas.
In addition to his experiences in the outdoors, Haggard has also written for various marketing and professional magazines, creating both short stories and professional articles. However, it was only recently that he turned his talents to writing western adventure stories. Haggard enjoys learning about the real characters of western history and incorporating them into his fictional works, as a way to preserve their memory and the heritage they left behind.
Haggard is a family man, with a wife of 55 years, two children, and four grandchildren. He considers his family to be the most important part of his life, and he strives to instill a sense of community and working together in his writing. In fact, he often includes a message in his books that encourages readers to work together to keep the world from falling apart.
Haggard has also begun writing a series of children's books called "The Amazing Adventures of Two Boys," which are published on Amazon under his father's name, Don Horridge, and his own name. These books are inspired by the stories his father told him and his brother as children, and they are designed to be exciting but not frightening. Haggard donates all of the proceeds from these children's books to children's ministries throughout the world.
